UK Government to Cut Solar PV FIT

Feed in Tariff Rates Cut by 50% from December 2011

The changes to the payments available for Solar PV generation will be implemented on all systems installed after 12th December 2011.

Reduction of the Domestic Tariff rate from 43.3 pence per kWh to 21 pence will obviously affect the economics of installations up to 4 kWp. However, as module and inverter prices continue to fall, installation of this technology will remain attractive in many cases.
